Types of Photo

Not sure what type of photographs you would like? Here are some ideas!

Photos for Everyone

The following types of photos are available to everyone.

Studio Photos

Photos taken in a studio setting against a backdrop. Depending on the type of photo, we offer several options: standard backdrops include plain black, white, grey, and red; or marble-effect blue, green and light grey. In this setting, lighting can be tightly controlled to ensure light falls where we want it to. Photographs can be well lit or lighting can be set up to create a more artistic look.

Indoor Photos

Photos taken inside around the house, including the lounge, hallway, stairs, kitchen-diner, bedroom or bathroom. These photographs can be lit with natural light (coming through the window or windows), studio lighting, or a mix of both.

Possible options include sitting on a sofa or chair, seated at a table or dressing table and lying on a bed. Artistic shots using reflections in mirrors are another popular option.

Outdoor Photos

Richard has a large patio, garden and an orchard behind the house: these are popular locations for shots. These can be lit using natural light, studio lights or a mix of both. Reflectors and diffusers can also be used to enhance and control sunlight. The intensity and direction of the sun may determine what will be a well lit or poorly lit photo; Richard is skilled at using sunlight to our advantage and avoiding harsh shadows, especially across facial features.

Public Places

If you are confident being snapped in public, then we can go out and about for photographs.

When taking outdoor photos, consideration will need to be given to other people using the location and to avoid taking unwanted people in the background.

We are also happy to shoot in places that are privately owned but to which the public have access, such as shopping centres, historic houses, museums and hotels. However, these places may have limitations on how photographs are taken and their usage (for example, the use of flash may be prohibited). Some venues will also wish to charge a commercial fee that may make the costs prohibitive. If you wish to have images taken in these locations, it is wise to speak with us so we can check restrictions and costs in advance. Clients are liable to any costs charged by venues, including entry fees and photography fees in these circumstances.

Group Photos

We are happy to take photographs of couples, groups and families.

Photos for Adults

The following types of photos are not available to people aged under 18.

These images can be shot inside or outside, but not in public places.

Boudoir/Lingerie

A sexy choice for clients who wish to pose in underwear and lingerie for images. Typically, these are taken in a studio or bedroom setting. An inflatable mattress can be used to create a bedroom feel in a studio setting.

Fetish/BDSM

For those who wish to have their photograph taken in fetish clothing such as latex, PVC or leather. These shoots can also be combined with restraints (for example, ropes or cuffs) and props such as floggers and whips.

Images of this nature can be erotic or simulating, but must be tasteful

Nude (no genitalia shown)

If you are happy posing naked, then Richard is happy to take photos of you. However images of this type must be tasteful and the final image must not show genitalia. Genitalia may be hidden by the angle of the body, other body parts, objects or by hiding them in the dark area of an image.

Prohibited Images

Richard will not take the following types of photo:

Nude (genitalia shown)

Richard does not take photographs in which genitalia are visible in the final image.

Sexual Acts

Richard will not take pictures showing genitalia (aroused or otherwise) and/or sexual acts: this includes solo, couple and group shots and both simulated and actual acts.
