Barbarella is a late 1960s science fiction film, based on a comic by the French author Jean-Claude Forest. Released in 1968, it was a popular movie that became the year's second-highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom.
The film is set in the year 4000. Barbarella is sent from Earth as a space traveller to locate an evil scientist who has developed a weapon capable of destroying Earth. Barbarella is played by the actress Jane Fonda.
In November 2025, Rachel Anya came to Richard's studio for a Barbarella-themed photoshoot. The shoot was then taken in several directions: retro-style photos with a 1960s period look, in both black and white and colour; composite images placing Barbarella on board her spaceship and on the surface of a distant planet, in bold green and red themes; a full colour studio shot; and a styled graphic putting Rachel on the front cover of her very own Barbarella comic.
